Kari has done an amazing job working with my father, who really wants to stay in his home and as independent as possible for as long as he can. Kari has been instrumental in shopping for items that he needs and wants, to supplement Meals on Wheels. She has also been incredibly helpful checking on him regularly, to make sure he's ok. Living out of state with an aging parent is challenging, yet her services have been an integral part of the resources needed.
Kari has been an amazing support for my father and myself. My father was in middle stage Alzheimers needing reminders and help but still somewhat aware. She helped support my father to maintain as much independence in his life while providing assistance in many ways so that I as an overwhelmed family caregiver could have a break.
She is very understanding, flexible, trustworthy, positive, friendly, caring and so helpful with many things my father needed help with from shopping for new clothes or shoes for him, medication reminders, companionship, errands and organizing.
I could count on her to check on him and communicate with me on how he was doing. Since Kari was the one person we worked with we didn't have to worry about a different person coming in each time from an agency which was easier for both myself and my Dad.
She also checked on him when he was in the hospital after a fall and again when he went to rehab. She even helped me with packing his belongings when we moved him into a memory care facility. I highly recommend Kari!
Having Kari work for my Dad was an answer to my prayers and we are so grateful for the time she spent with my Dad before he moved.
I live over 600 miles from Madison; I am the 'Activated Power of Attorney for Health Care' for my sister, who lives alone in Madison. My sister suffers from dementia and is increasingly unable to take care of many of the day-to-day cognitive functions necessary to take care of herself. Since I can't be there to check up on her, I rely heavily upon Kari's professional expertise when she visits my sister weekly to check on medications, food on hand and condition of food in the refrigerator, minutes left on her cell phone and, in general, her well-being.
Kari always communicates with me after her visits to keep me updated on my sister's condition. At this point, my sister refuses to move out of her home, so I'm thankful that she is being taken care of by Kari.
